SON OF AFRICAN SOIL - Is it love or obsession?

SON OF AFRICAN SOIL

Son of African soil,
I admire your tenacity.
The way you claim to love her,
Yet leading her through hell—
I marvel at your resilience.

Son of African soil,
Is it love or obsession that drives you?
I tremble at your definition of love—
That her tears
Should nourish your pride.

Son of African soil,
You must be a twig from an alien tree.
For in Africa we know:
Love is joy, love is strength,
Love endures, love is selfless,
Never self-seeking.

Son of African soil,
Come back home.
Come down from your high pedestal of self entitlement.
Man has been known to tame the wildest lion—yet,

Son of African soil,
The man who conquers his own ego
Deserves a standing ovation.

Son of African soil,
Come back home.

YOU HAVE OVERCOME THEM

They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. "For I am with you", says the Lord,
 "to deliver you."
(Jeremiah 1:19)

No matter who or what rises against you, you are never alone. The Lord Himself declares that He is with you, equipping you with strength and courage to face every trial.

Opposition may come, but it cannot overcome you, for God’s presence is your shield and your deliverer.

Stand firm in faith, trust His guidance, and walk boldly, knowing that victory is already assured through Him.

DIVINE FAVOUR

A good man obtains favour from the Lord but a man of wicked intentions He will condemn.

1. God Looks Beyond Actions — He Searches the Heart

Many people can appear good on the outside. They can speak well, act politely, and even look religious. But God does not measure goodness by outward performance; He measures it by the intentions of the heart. A good man is not perfect, but his heart leans toward righteousness—his motives are pure, his desire is to walk in God’s light, and his aim is to honour God even when no one is watching.

God delights in such a heart. His favour follows the person whose desire is to do good because goodness reflects His character.

2. God’s Favour Is Not Earned — It Is Attracted

A good man does not chase favour; favour chases him.
When you live in honesty, humility, and obedience, God opens doors no man can shut. He gives wisdom, strengthens your steps, protects your path, and establishes your plans.

Walking uprightly becomes a magnet for divine favour.
Your life begins to overflow with God’s goodness—not because you demand it, but because your character aligns with His nature.

3. Wicked Intentions Cannot Hide for long

The second part of the verse is a sober reminder: God sees what people hide.
Wicked intentions may be clothed in religious language, cultural respectability, or smooth words, but they cannot deceive the One who sees the secrets of the heart.

God does not merely condemn wicked actions—He condemns wicked motives.
This teaches us that sin often begins internally long before it becomes visible. If the heart is unaligned with God, destruction follows.

4. A Daily Call to Examine the Heart

This verse invites us to pause and ask:

  • Why do I do what I do?
  • Are my intentions pure before God?
  • Is my heart aligned with His truth, or am I just performing?

A heart aligned with God brings stability, peace, and favour.
A heart filled with hidden intentions brings chaos, guilt, and divine opposition.

5. Prayer of Alignment

Father, search my heart and reveal anything within me that is not pleasing to You. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Let my motives be pure, my intentions upright, and my actions honourable. May Your favour rest upon my life as I walk in Your ways. Amen.
